Five (5) Apartment Community Residence

Project consisted of a gut renovation of an existing five (5) apartment residence to a legal five (5) apartment multiple dwelling that conforms with New York State Office of Mental Health regulations. Fusion Architecture, PLLC provided full A/E services including site plan approval.

New 8 Bed IRA Residence

Ground up new construction of an individualized residential alternative (IRA) for eight (8) developmentally disabled, medical frail adults. Residence consists of a single story, 4,275 S.F., with a full height basement. Residence is certified by OPWDD as an IRA. The residence was designed to comply with Energy Star 3 requirements.

Interior Alterations

The existing site is a three (3) eight bed IRA. The project consisted of the renovations of the existing living areas, bathrooms, kitchens and main lobby.

Ellen & Alan Spiegel Children’s Center

Renovation and addition to an existing 9,500 S.F. building for conversion to a school for underprivileged and special needs children. Fusion was involved in all phases from Feasibility Study through Construction Administration and Project Close-Out.

The Suffolk County Child Advocacy Center

Ground up construction of a new child advocacy center to help children who have been sexually and physically abused. This project was designed and constructed per LEED design criteria, but the Owner decided to forego certification due to the associated cost. Fusion was involved in all phases from Preliminary Design through Construction Administration and Project Close-Out.

Del Mastro Pavilion, The Family Center for Autism

Gut renovation of an existing 10,000 S.F. 110 year old office building to serve as the new Del Mastro Pavilion, the Family Center for Autism. The Center offers unique, holistic, family centric support services to children on the autism spectrum. www.TheFamilyCenterforAutism.org

Charles Evans Health Services Center

Ground-up new construction of a 20,000 SF New York State Department of Health certified Article 28 Clinic and AgencyAdministrative Offices. Clinic space includes examination rooms, treatment rooms, dental suites, and mental health counseling.

Three (3) New Single Family Residences

The Housing Our Heroes project involved the construction of 3 new single-family homes on a plot of vacant land located on Sycamore Lane in Central Islip, Suffolk County. The land was donated to Concern for Independent Living, the project Sponsor, by the County of Suffolk on October 30, 2015. The project will include 3 family units, totaling 15 beds, and will provide permanent supportive housing for homeless veterans and their families. All plumbing, electric, and HVAC systems are high efficiency systems. The buildings conform with the EPA ENERGY STAR New Homes version 3.0 and Water Sense Certifications. All homes are 100% handicapped accessible.

Residence for Veterans

Ground up new construction of a new 4,200 S.F. residence for Veterans. The residence will be the first Department of Energy, Zero Energy Ready Home, that will be built by students of United Way of Long Island’s Vetsbuild and Youth Build programs.

48 Unit Apartment Building

Ground up new construction of 48 affordable apartment units for low to moderate income Seniors (62+) and Individuals with developmental disabilities to be located within ACLD’s campus.
